Do you guys think I should stay with an i7 2600k or upgrade to an i7 3930k? It will be like 5 months until I get it I was just wondering.

Wll you wouldn't have to switch MOBO's for that.StriickeN wrote:Do you guys think I should stay with an i7 2600k or upgrade to an i7 3930k? It will be like 5 months until I get it I was just wondering.
The 2600K is a little slower and a bit hotter with less cores than the 3930K.
BUT Ivy Bridge will be almost fully abandoned by then so why don't you just wait another year and save for Intel's next Generation because Haswell is a major flop.
They only OC to like 4.2 where Ivy Bridge are getting 4.5-4.8.
So yea, just wait till next year and get Intel's next gen
OR get one of the AMD Steamroller CPU's.

Heat isn't a problem as I have water cooling. And I might wait a year, never switching to AMD so if an intel one isn't out i'll just end up getting this.
