According to reports, the PlayStation 4 may be capable of playing PS3 games via. the cloud streaming service, Gaikai.
Sony will the Gaikai cloud gaming service to bring PS3 games to the next-generation console, stated in Wall Street Journal report.
If this is true, it would bring a solution to the issue of backwards compatibility on the PS4.
Sony acquired the cloud-based gaming service of Gaikai for around about $380 million in July 2012.
Sony hasn't said much on their plans for the Gaikai, other than saying that while it "will be focused on Sony's game machines", it will also be "expanding the technology to other Sony products is absolutely within the frame".
