First and foremost, don’t get your hopes up on any next generation releases. With at least one last batch of major holiday releases for Sony and Microsoft, it would be asinine. What we can expect will be those major titles most of us already know.
Sony will most likely be showcasing the Vita in attempt to draw up sales. With the amount of publicity around E3 expect a large showing for the small screen. Other console based titles should be on display also, Last of Us comes to mind instantly. Sony has also promised two unknown announcements. Aside from the latest rumor about an OnLive partnership, one can only speculate. What do you think Sony has up their sleeves?
As for Microsoft.. We all can probably guess the two main focal points. Halo 4 and Black Ops 2. At this point there is no big shocker with that. I’m sure we will get some more trailers, offering more insight and tons of other details regarding the two.
Alongside those two heavy hitters, we can probably expect a Forza Horizon showcase. Other than the initial report of Turn 10 branching off, everything has been pretty hush hush. Surely there will be another Kinect integration and more smaller titles being unveiled for it also. Can we expect any surprises here?
That leaves Nintendo. Anyone want to guess the star of their show?
Unlike last year, the Wii U should be on display as a final ready to go product. Expect a confirmed release date, finalized specs and a line up of launch games. Also, word has been coming in about the new “reworked” controller design. At this point the release date and final specs are the only real unknowns here.
In my opinion, this year is pretty much all laid out already. I’m sure there will be a few surprises from the three here and there but not much has been hid from the general public this year. Aside from the console and title side what can we expect to see? Is there anything you guys are hoping for out of left field? It’s looking like a title heavy year at E3.
