We all know that Qualcomm will try to one up the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa Core processor. We are also aware that Qualcomm is planning on releasing its flagship Snapdragon 800 soon. But today’s rumor confirms that Qualcomm may have a winner on their hands. The Snapdragon 800 will be the successor of Snapdragon 600 chips which are already really fast ones. The 600 tier chips are being used in flagship smartphone like the U.S and Europe version of Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and LG Optimus G Pro. This certainly makes us curious to know more about the Snapdragon 800 chips.
Well we are already hearing rumors about smartphones running on the Snapdragon 800 chips, there was one about the next Oppo Find smartphone running on the powerful processor. There was also another rumor about an unannounced LG smartphone being powered by the same chip. Today we are looking at some benchmark results which are quite impressive. The device on which the benchmarks were ran is a Pantech one with the model number IM-A880. This certainly coincides by the previous rumor as the Pantech Vega No 6 has the model number IM-A860 which runs on Snapdragon S4 Pro chip.

The Pantech smartphone scored an impressive 30133 in the AnTuTu benchmarks while being clocked at 2.1 GHz. This result easily beats the Snapdragon 600 chips by the margin of almost 5000 points. This score also surpasses the one registered by Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones, the U.S/Europe version scored 25900 (ran on Snapdragon 600) and the International variant scored 27417 (Ran on Exynos 5 Octa). Percentage wise there is a 10% increase clock for clock over the Snapdragon 600, which while not being a huge improvement, is still a considerable one. The real question is what will we do will all this power? The smartphones are already really responsive and snappy. We will be keeping an eye on the Snapdragon 800 and the mysterious Pantech device.
