For years PC gamers have had the technological edge over consoled based gaming. Now, this isn’t exactly a console by any means, it is actually a full blown gaming PC. Packed into a slim, console like shell with a console like base price, starting at $699.
Alienware is known for their bulky designs and their powerhouse specs. Coming in at 12lbs and compact 13.5 inches tall by 12.5 inches deep and less than 4 inches thick, this is far from normal for the company. The design also features a slot loading DVD drive and allows for vertical or horizontal placement.
The X51 is available in 8 different configurations all using Intel processors ranging from their i3 to their i7 models. Along side the processor options, you have your choice of 4GB or 8GB of RAM and the NVIDIA Geforce GT 545 or GTX 555 graphics card. The top of the line model will set you back $1149, according to Dell’s online store. While an almost $1200 price tag may not seem like console pricing, the base model still packs a punch being able to run Battlefield 3 at 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second.
