Lately there have been a lot of rumors stirring up over the release dates of the next generation consoles. Michael French at MCV previously reported that both Sony and Microsoft will unveil their products at E3 in 2012.
Despite a widely published rumor that was said to be “100% concrete” a statement has come from Sony themselves that seems to contradict the rumor. Behind closed doors at the recent CES show, Sony’s Kaz Hirai addressed the widely questioned rumor saying “Andy (House) is absolutely right in that we are not making any announcements at E3. I’ve always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that.”
Now, for all of the Sony supporters out there, this may not rule out a potential release at that time. There is still almost a full year left for them to make an official announcement. But, as of now, we will have to wait and see what the future holds.
