The future of Xbox is starting to look all the brighter, when Microsoft have announced that they've been granted a DVR patent by the US patent and trademark office.
This patent not only allows your Xbox to be a console for games, it will also allow it to act as a digital video recorder. It was granted in the closing days of last year (27th of December) and has been described as :
What we can digest from the above quote is that you'll now be able to record TV, games and much more in the future. It also shows that Xbox are moving in a new direction with the social aspect of their console, and are focused on making your gaming experience one that can be shared with the world.
Whilst this may have been announced, I feel it's necessary to say: don't hold your breath for it. Most people fully expect this to not to be part of the Xbox 360, and instead think that it'll be a feature on the rumoured new and upcoming Xbox console...
With E3 round the corner, I'm sure this will be mentioned somewhat in one way or another - preferably along with the announcement of the next generation of Xbox consoles!
