Rockstar Games has addressed questions about whether Grand Theft Auto 5 will be released on next-generation consoles and PC.
Speaking in a Q&A post found on the official Rockstar Games website, the developer states it is focusing its attention on the current-gen versions.
"The only versions of the game that we have announced are for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 which are set for a September 17th worldwide release," it says.
"We don't have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now."
Although speculation that GTA 5 will also be released on Xbox One and PS4 has been rampant, Rockstar hasn't officially commented on next-gen versions. Similarly, it has not discussed the status of a PC version.
However, a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 was listed by the German arm of Amazon, as well as a second European retailer.
CVG sources have indicated that GTA 5 is set to break UK sales records. Take-Two will reportedly allocate three million copies for the UK alone, giving it scope to outstrip the fastest selling UK game ever, Call of Duty: Black Ops.
The GTA 5 release date has been confirmed as September 17 worldwide.
