A new photo of Apple's long-rumored, low-cost iPhone has surfaced, courtesy of accessory manufacturer Tactus. As seen in the image below, the device will allegedly use a unibody plastic rear shell, reminiscent of the discontinued Macbook laptop. Tactus also claims that the phone will utilize the same A5 processor found in the iPad mini, and will feature a 3.5-inch Retina display. Specifics regarding the device's dimensions are unclear, although it is expected to be both taller and wider and the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Similar to the most recent iPod touch, this iPhone will reportedly be available in black, white, blue, red, and yellow.
While Apple has yet to confirm that such a product is even in development, CEO Tim Cook previously stated that the company did not have a sufficient supply of iPhone 4 handsets after the price drop following the launch of the iPhone 5. By using an affordable material like plastic rather than the glass casing introduced with the iPhone 4, Apple could theoretically produce a large amount of low-cost handsets for the more frugal shoppers and markets, instead of depending on a dwindling inventory of old phones.
Tactus suggests that the iPhone variant will be available starting October 15th for just $300 unlocked, matching the price point of Google and LG's Nexus 4.

So its a second iphone 4S for $200 less brand new and unlocked?
This isn't a bad deal considering the 4S is like $500 on ebay or anywhere and unlocked is even more.
