If you're a member of the iDevice jialbreak community, then odds are the name Cydia should ring a bell to you. Essentially it is the hacked version of Apple's App Store and it allows indie developers to post their hacks and tweaks in a virtual locale where they can be downloaded and installed directly on to a user's hardware. Obviously this is a pretty awesome concept, but one of the problems that really can drag the fun down is the apps slow download speed. Especially when so many new jailbreakers will be heading to the servers at once, this would normally cause headaches for us all. If Saurik has his way though, a new "pre-primed" version might solve those issues.
Starting with 6.1 this new version of Cydia will hopefully have you doing a lot less downloading from repos upon its first boot. Essentially what will happen is instead of downloading all the repos like has been done in the past, a catalog of these default repos will already be included in the jailbreak. That means other than a few odds and ends, Cydia should be just about ready to go as soon as you are. The best place to find hacks sounds like it has never been better!
