According to the Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, "fans will certainly not have to wait four more years for the next Far Cry." This is largely due to the fact that Far Cry 3 has exceeded expectations and has shipped over 4.5 million copies. Ubisoft is on the doing very well and is taking full advantage of the brand formula and gameplay for the series, despite the four year wait between Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 2.
