Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has broken pre-order records at retail giant GameStop.Company president Tony Bartel said today: "Consumer anticipation for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is tremendous. We are seeing the highest pre-orders in history."With its current pace, this Call of Duty is on track to break records and is likely to be our biggest game launch of all time."Last year's Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare 3 recorded "the biggest entertainment launch ever" with an estimated sell-through of more than $400 million and more than 6.5 million units in the US and UK alone in its first 24 hours of availability, according to publisher Activision.Bartel's comments were delivered as Activision announced that it has reworked its Call of Duty Elite service, which will no longer feature separate premium and free tiers. Instead, all service features will now be free to all, with additional game content to be delivered in four separate packages, which are available to pre-purchase with the Black Ops 2 DLC Season Pass.Activision has confirmed a Black Ops 2 release date of November 13.
