Far Cry has been one of Ubisoft’s major action shooters for the last eight years and was scheduled for another installment in September. Jason Brody is set to be stranded on a tropical island like the original Far Cry. This time though, he is becoming familiar with the jungle and has some friends helping him. This time it is about payback.

Recently, the company has delayed their initial launch date until December 4th in North America and November 29th throughout the rest of the world. Producer Dan Hay went public and expressed the need for the delay. ”We’re taking more time to create the best possible gameplay experience. Far Cry 3 is a huge offering and we want every element of this insane, action-packed adventure to be of the highest possible quality for the players,” he said.

As of now, it is unknown if the delay will push back the beta period. If more time is needed is it safe to assume the beta is going to be delayed also?
