I’ll give everyone a second to catch their breathe after this shocking news…

Sledgehammer Games, the company behind Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty 4 have recently posted a job listing confirming yet another Call of Duty title. The job listing for a “senior FX artist” was listed on Sledgehammer’s website earlier this morning and has since been pulled down from public view.

The listing went on to describe the jobs detail “to create the most exceptional real-time effects with hyper realism for [its] next Call of Duty game.” Those who wish to apply for the position were also asked to have “solid professional experience and knowledge of the limitations and performance of current generation hardware (360, PS3).”

Does this mean a launch date sooner than we would all expect, or like?

If any of you remember awhile back it was rumored that Sledgehammer was planning to spin off from the normal Modern Warfare and Black Ops, could this be it? Maybe that “hyper realism” offers some insight to that, because the Modern Warfare series is far from realism. Either way, am I the only one who finds it shocking that the next two titles are already being developed when the current one has only been out for less than a year? Seems a little too soon.
