The “Join or Die” edition of Assassin’s Creed 3 has been accidentally leaked by an Italian online retailer.
It has already been confirmed by Ubisoft that there will be a collectors edition of the game, however until today no further details were known. The leak, as displayed above, shows the game with bonus DLC, a journal of sorts and the Assassin’s emblem on a chain. Nothing is official at the minute, however this certainly looks like potential for the collector’s edition.

A further buying point in the reliability of the source is the title of the edition. The phrase “Join or Die” was coined by Benjamin Franklin in the 18th Century. It first appeared alongside a snake severed into eight pieces, each segment representing a British American Colony. The illustration was used to highlight Franklin’s views on colonial unity. At the time, it was largely believed that if a severed snake was put back together before sunset it would come back to life. His point being America could thrive only when everywhere was working in unison. The phrase and it’s symbolism later became important as a slogan for American Independence.
It is already known that Franklin will be taking a side role in the next Assassin’s Creed game, so the whole thing looks quite promising. Assassin’s Creed 3 will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3 on the 31st October 2012.
