Sony will release another firmware update (version 1.6) for the PlayStation Vita on February 8th. The first major update for the system will be adding two new features.
The first feature that you will be seeing on your PS Vita is a Map app on the Home screen. This allows you to view your position on a map, like a navigation system (GPS).

Another feature is the Photo app with the ability to record video through the built-in camera.

Other than the system's firmware, Sony will be released a MAC OS version of its Transferring Software (Content Management Assistant Program) for PlayStation Vita. This has been available only for Windows OS since the Japanese PS Vita was launched.
