Sony recently held their CES presentation in Las Vegas and revealed the sales figures for the newly released PS Vita, and they weren’t as bad as people thought they would be following recent reports.

The CEO of Sony, Kaz Hirai took to the stage to confirm that between the 17th of December and the 5th of January, 500,000 PlayStation Vita units were sold. As well as revealing this, he confirmed that the daily average is 25,000 units sold.

Although it’s not selling as well as the main competitive handheld, the 3DS, it’s not doing too badly. It’s still expected that once it is released worldwide, the sales of the console will skyrocket as many of the launch titles seemed geared towards the overseas audience.

So, will the overseas release of the Vita, and the prospect of Monster Hunter and Call of Duty titles being under development be enough to pick up the sales?
