In a recent interview from Impress Watch SCE Senior Vice President Yoshio Matsumoto explained that at the time of launch the PS Vita will not be support any Apple operating systems. The device will not be recognized at all, and it will not appear as a storage device.

Yoshio Matsumoto also mentioned that to transfer files between your PS Vita and a computer you will need a special program, something similar to iTunes or Media Go. The reason why the Vita will not be compatible with Macs at release is because this program is currently only available for Windows. However, users will be able to transfer some files between their Vitas and PS3s without special software other than PS3 firmware 4.00 or newer. Since this will surely leave many gamers disappointed, Yoshio Matsumoto made sure to confirm that a Mac version of the program will be available in the near future.
