Someone offered me a pair of ram sticks.
    The ram sticks are 8gb G skill (I think) DDR3 1600.
    Probably something like this.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314

Thing is, he wants one of my PS3's.
This is ok cause I don't really use them.
And I don't know if my motherboard will support 1600 ram.
    I have a MSI 760GM-E51 (FX) currently running DDR3 1333.

So should I do it or no?

I agree with above posters. It is a tough decision.

You could buy a basic RAM or RAM stick(s) for a fraction of the PS3's price (even pre-owned PS3s).

Also which version PS3 are you going to trade him? PS3 Original, PS3 Slim or PS3 Super-Slim?

    Laughing

PS: Be aware - he may be tricking you.

He wasn't tricking me and I decided to do something different with the PS3 anyway.
Plus he said he didn't want do it anymore.

It was the original 80GB PS3 with all the card readers and PS2 support.
It had never been overheated before as many of the other original PS3's did.
    Just didn't play blue-rays.
    Played DVD's fine though, Laughing

Thanks for the help anyway guys.
