Nihilistic Software has some new information to share about Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, the PlayStation Vita-exclusive CoD that should be arriving sometime in fall 2012. Little has been shown of the game outside of its Gamescom reveal, though studio boss Rob Huebner tells PlayStation Blog that the visuals have improved dramatically since that initial showing.

Huebner also revealed a few facts about the game, including the presence of multiplayer maps Range (possibly a nod to Black Ops' fan-favorite Firing Range) and Nukehouse, inspired by the 2010 Treyarch title's Nuketown map. The multiplayer portion of the game features the same sort of progression system that the console games do, with a few changes.

Weapon attachments, for example. All primary weapons can be equipped with two attachments and all secondaries with one. Fans can look forward to some new attachments as well, including an improved grip for boosted hip fire accuracy and an adjustable stock that allows players to move at full speed while aiming down the sights. There are also new perks, such as Surplus (extra ammo/grenades with each spawn) and Hardwired (immune to counter spy plane).

Huebner says that the campaign portion of the game features "objective-based missions" that aim to "give the player the experience of striving for the 'perfect run' through each mission." There's also a survival mode in Hostiles, where players take on infinite waves of enemies as they re-supply through care package drops.

Are you excited for Black Ops Declassified? Don't forget that Nihilistic is behind the only other first-person shooter currently available for the PlayStation Vita. As you can see in our Resistance: Burning Skies review, that game did not fare so well. Hopefully the lessons learned from that experience will carry over into Declassified to make it a better game for one and all.
