PlayStation Network maintenance has been scheduled for this Tuesday June 25.
Sony says the "routine" maintenance will run from approximately 5.30pm BST / 6.30pm CET until around midnight BST / 1.00am CET.
The PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home and Account Management will be unavailable during the maintenance period.
Users may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access PSN, but will be able to access online play and apps provided they've signed in prior to the beginning of the maintenance period.
Last week, Sony released and subsequently pulled PS3 firmware update 4.45 after it was found to be causing errors in what the platform holder termed a "small number" of consoles.
It later said: "A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologise for the inconvenience."
Firmware update 4.45 was designed to allow users to switch trophy notifications off via the System Settings menu and improve general performance.
Sony has applied for certification of two new PS3 models, suggesting revised versions of its current-gen console are in the works.
The company recently said it has no current plans to introduce a PS3 price cut, despite the fact that PS4 will be available this Christmas.
