Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has admitted that a PlayStation 4 version of the just-announced Gran Turismo 6 is under consideration.

Sony's latest flagship racing sim was today confirmed for release on the nearly-seven-year-old PS3 later this year, despite the release of the next-gen PlayStation 4 this 'holiday'.
Speaking to IGN at the recent GT6 reveal event at Silverstone race track, Yamauchi said, "We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now."

Seemingly moving to settle any premature excitement, however, Yamauchi added, "I thought the best scenario would be to have the game come out, then to have new scenarios, new DLC and other updates. Once the players have thoroughly played out the system, if the PlayStation 4 version came out naturally, as part of that process, I think that would be the best scenario."

If such a version were to be released, he added, gamers would "probably" be able to transfer over their saved progress.
