Russia might be rising but will not have the weight to be the next world power.
China is next.

And about foreign oil stuff here, EPA type groups are preventing us from using our resources.
We are sitting on a huge amount of natural gas and oil.

Russia does have power and I like their way of dealing with crime.

Russia doesn't have the same power it did 30 years ago.
If it had that type of power now it could be the next "World Leader" but it doesn't so it won't be.
You said it's population is half of the US.
That is another factor.
The nations coming are sadly the ones which are over populated like China and India.
North Korea is my favorite country too.
They are getting closer to being able to hit the US main land.
