Two and a Half Men has been renewed for Season 11. The only hold up until now has been making new deals with the cast, and Deadline says Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer's new contracts are on par with what they were making for Season 10 – about $700,000 per episode for Kutcher and a bit less for Cryer, keeping the duo as the highest paid actors on TV these days.
Not making a new deal? Angus T. Jones. That’s right, despite the title of the show, there won’t be a “Half Man” next season, at least not regularly. This isn't shocking, as Jones brought the show the latest in a long run of bad press (Ah, Charlie Sheen...) when he made inflammatory comments about the series being “filth” and encouraged fans to stop watching, which he later (somewhat) apologized for. Jones’ appearance on the series have already lessened, though he may still appear occasionally in a guest capacity.
Kutcher and Cryer’s new deals are only for one season, so we’ll see if CBS decides early on to announce Season 11 as the final year – or if this amazingly successful series could go on to a full dozen seasons. While The Big Bang Theory is now getting even better ratings, Two and a Half Men is currently TV's second highest-rated comedy series, after years as the biggest.
It's been a busy day for TV renewals. The Two and a Half Men announcement comes on the heels of NBC renewing five series and The CW renewing two more series for fall.
