New details about the Star Wars / Angry Birds crossover have surfaced by way of Fast Company. A new game, officially titled Angry Birds Star Wars, takes Rovio's iconic birds and recasts them as Star Wars characters. The Red Bird will be Luke Skywalker - but there's no word on which bird landed the coveted role of Han Solo. Our Angry Birds Star Wars wiki has a complete collection of everything we know, including the Angry Birds / Star Wars character match-ups.
A vast line of Angry Birds Stars Wars toys will accompany the game launch. There are reportedly more than 50 licensees signed up to create tie-in products ranging from kids bedding and apparel to toys. An Angry Birds Star Wars version of Jenga is even in the works, allowing kids to launch birds at a tabletop deathstar in an attempt to topple it.
A listing on Amazon.de for Angry Birds Star Wars Jenga confirms more of the casting, including (as we speculated below) the Yellow Bird as Han Solo and the Big Brother Bird as Chewbacca. The Death Star also appears to be built in the shape of a Pig.

Despite the company's most recent Angry Birds title taking place in space, IGN has unconfirmed reports that this Star Wars / Angry Birds Crossover actually involves toy & board game maker Hasbro. If true, this would seem to indicate that the crossover will instead focus on a physical game or toy and not necessarily another Angry Birds spin-off video game or set of stages.
IGN will have more details next week as soon as they become available.
