Are you a fan of Assassin’s Creed? Are you a PlayStation Vita owner? If the answer to both of those questions is “Yes” you’re in for a treat. Sony have unveiled they’ll be bringing an Assassin’s Creed game exclusively to the Vita. One can only imagine the dealings between Ubisoft and themselves to make this official.
The game will see the user playing as a female during the Louisiana rebellion of 1768 (those hot on their US history feel free to peg further details). Aveline Vignette, the new protagonist, is an apparent lady with ambition. From French-African heritage, Ubisoft are cutting no corners to incorporate as many diverse backgrounds as possible into their franchise. Seen to be armed with dual pistols, a machete, a blowpipe and the trademark hidden blade, Aveline is all set to tear her way through New Orleans in a somewhat bloody fashion.
Not too much is known about the game at present, but judging by the date, it’s set to run on a similar time scale to Assassin’s Creed 3. It really wouldn’t surprise me to see our fair maiden bump into Connor (the AC3 protagonist) at some point. Everyone loves cameos! Ubisoft have stated that we will not be seeing Desmond Miles in this game, instead another person (probably a wench of sorts) will be taking his place in the Animus hot seat. Despite this fact, nothing will be deterred from the classic Assassin’s Creed format. Ubisoft have claimed that Vita users will see a fully functional game straight from the franchise. No love lost for their handhelds, eh?
Assassin’s Creed 3 Liberation will be available from the 30th of October for US customers and a day later elsewhere. Those yet to invest in a Vita will see bundle deals with this game surfacing shortly. As E3 progresses we can expect many more details of this game to escape the confines of Sony’s privacy policy. Until then however, speculate yourself silly.
