As we are all aware, next generation consoles are well under way. Sony seems to have been failing behind, or keeping all talks of the console behind closed doors. Last week, reports came in stating the Sony’s focus was on current devices.
This may not be completely true.
Former employees from AMD have came forth and said that they are indeed working on a processor for the next console. Currently, the PS3 is running on Nvidia processor so this will be a change from the current Playstation. Microsoft’s next console is also speculated to have an AMD processor based on the 6000 series, as reported by Octavarium.
With both Microsoft and Sony choosing to operate with AMD, it will be interesting to see who has the technological edge. Perhaps we can expect to see identical GPU’s in both consoles. As of now one can only speculate but one thing is for sure, AMD seems to have cornered the next generation console market.
