Traditionally, Assassin Creed games release in November, but this year, the next game in the series, Assassin Creed III will release in October.

This comes as a surprise to many in the industry, considering Ubisoft is not even waiting a year before releasing the next game in the series. The release date, slated for October 30th, was revealed in a conference call to investors, and Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot mentioned the game will be “the biggest launch in Ubisoft history.”

It has also been noted that the game has been in development for three years, so fans worrying about a rushed game have nothing to fear. Little is known about the new game, but we do know that it will star a new main character, finally breaking away from Ezio de Auditore.

That is all that is known at the moment, but still, the news leaves me wondering why exactly the company is not just releasing the game in November as always? Are they trying to break the trend now that they have a new character, or it is just a marketing strategy?
