Robert Bowling is known for being a presence in the gaming community surrounding Call of Duty. This is partially because it is his job, and partially because he loves to entertain fans and media alike with teasers, information, and jokes.

When asked about the future plans for DLC that are highlighted on the COD Elite website, he mentioned that there is a possibility that gun DLC will be included. Specifically, when asked about it a week ago he mentioned that “it would be cool, but we have not confirmed any weapon or camo packs yet.” While this is far from a confirmation, history has shown that when Bowling admits to liking something, it gets done (i.e. FMG9 fix, Shotgun buff).

Along that same line, when asked about the potential for old Call of Duty maps to make a return in Modern Warfare 3, he mentioned, “I don’t know yet,” and then stated that he “would love to see CrossFire, Backlot, Favela and [his] favorite two Call of Duty maps ever, Overgrown and Crash.”

What is interesting about this development is that back when the rumor first began of prior Call of Duty maps coming to MW3, four of those maps were mentioned as being included in the MW3 map files.

Only time will tell if his hopes come to fruition, but with his current track record it seems like a moderately safe bet.
