Well the second build is better but seems to cost more.

There honestly won't be much difference aside from the fact the intel and nvidia setup will be getting more FPS all around.
But you honestly won't notice anything different past 70 or 80fps.

Since you are putting nvidia up there why go with the 680 when the 770 is about the same and cheaper?

You can take the money you save from that expensive ass 680 and put it into a SSD which will give you monumental performance gains.

Also, I would honestly change your PSU to a Corsair one.
Even though the Thermaltake is more than fine Corsair is much better.

That thing is sold as fuck and only $72,
It came with 2 120mm case fans and one big ass side fan I had to modify to make fit with my CPU cooler.

All in all both builds would be fine but they are on the pricey side and could use a bit of updating IMO.

Go with the second one for sure.
On my Apevia case the large side fan hit my CPU heatsink's heat pipes so I had to notch out little piece on it.
Not a big deal, and you probably won't need to do that.


As for your question on steam about thermal paste.

No you won't need to buy any thermal paste because the cooler will come with it but the paste on the cooler isnt the best and you can get better for very cheap.

I used my cooler's thermal paste and it was fine, temps were ok.
But when I upgraded CPU's I got Arctic Silver Alumina and that was only $2 at the time. 
It made a pretty good difference in temps even though I was running a cooler dual core before.

If you want it to stay the coolest buy some arctic silver 5.

But the thermal paste the cooler comes with will be just fine.
