Microsoft is hosting an OnLive “networking mixer” at its Mountain View, California location on August 28. The firm said it’s “eager to speak to individuals and teams affected by the OnLive transition.”

According to an open invitation for the former OnLive employees, Microsoft is “looking to add key players who want to make a real impact in creating groundbreaking new products and services,” for the Xbox brand and Kinect.

OnLive has already hired many of its former employees back after shutting up shop and reopening after a recent acquisition, and according to CEO Steve Perlman, the firm hopes to get “a lot more back in,” before their COBRA insurance kicks in.

Sim Dietrich, a former engineer at OnLive, recently set up a fund to help employees past the cost of COBRA, which is a temporary healthcare insurance for ex-employees.

OnLive has set up the COBRA option for employees, but was unable to reimburse it. Perlman said the fund was a “good alternative” and himself donated $50,000 to the fund and will “add more as needed.”
