Since another E3 has officially come and gone, I can now express myself on how Sony should have covered more content for the Vita. During the hour and a half presentation it seemed like Sony barely scrapped the surface with coverage for the current handheld. Now I’m not saying that it should have been main stage, but with lackluster launch you would expect them to go all out and try squeeze the most out of it’s shelf life. Instead, it took a back seat to.. The Wonder Book? Come on Sony.

After the show, Sony worldwide president, Shuhei Yoshida, sat down and addressed many of our concerns. In an interview with VG24/7 Yoshida even admitted the wrong doing by saying:

“It was our fault for not spending enough time on PS Vita content. We have 25 new games on the show floor, playable during E3…So we could have shown more during the press conference. But I observed that the PR team’s one big focus was to make the conference shorter this year. We have been criticized for having a long conference in the past. So this year’s focus was let’s make it very compact and impactful.”

So Sony, where were these other games? How about the exclusives and new titles? Gravity Rush is coming out next week and is a Vita specific game, using the device to it’s full potential, why not show that? Maybe the Vita just isn’t a priority anymore for Sony.

In my opinion, it’s too short in the Vita’s life to call it quits. Yoshida agrees. When asked about the future plans for 2013 and the Vita and PS3, Yoshida was not budging and assured us that the current generation and Vita are still the focus. Where is that focus Sony?
