The elusive red PS3, found only on Japanese shores, has been said to have had a sudden change in it’s migratory habits. Experts predict that the rare console will begin nesting in UK habitats on the 27th of this month. It is currently unknown as to how this will impact the native black PS3′s life cycle, however after a well documented and successful introduction of the white strain of the species, many guess that it will have limited effects on the pre-existing breeds.
Too naturey; didn’t read? Sony are bringing the formerly Japan only red PS3 to the UK. It’ll be complete with a 320GB HDD, a red controller and all the regular cable fittings. So far there’s no news about a US or rest of world release, so it seems as if the UK are being a western-test audience on the package. After going down a storm in Japan and already receiving numerous pre-orders in the UK, there’s no reason why this won’t be available for everyone in the future, but for now any foreign hopefuls will have to wait. The console will retail at a start price of £240.
Despite the red console’s introduction to other nations Japan seem to be retaining some exclusivity as the Sky Blue PlayStation is still only available to them. Perhaps if the red version takes off we’ll be seeing its blue counterpart in our shops before long. This news isn’t exactly hot off the press nor is it super-interesting, but I needed to get something up on the homepage.
So, what do you guys think about this? Would you buy a red PS3? Personally, I can’t see how red would ever fit in with your interior décor. I can’t ever recall seeing a red TV, or any other furnishings for that matter. The black one looks a lot smarter in my eyes. Oh well, I suppose if Xbox is living it large with funky colours PlayStation can too…
