Warning, this is a tethered jailbreak meaning if you have this and reboot your device the jailbreak will be gone!

1.) Make sure your device is on iOS 6.

2.) Download Redsn0w ( Windows / Mac ).

3.) Extract the contents in the folder and save them to your desktop or another area of your system where it's easiest to work with them.

4.) Open the exe file by Right clicking, and running as administrator or with Mac OS X Ctrl + Click - Open.



5.) Redsn0w has advanced dramatically with the last few major revisions and now has the power to whip through the jailbreak without much interaction. Follow the onscreen instructions (Redsn0w might ask you to enter DFU mode) to complete the jailbreak process.

The current release of Redsn0w doesn’t install Cydia by default. To install cydia, follow the steps below:

The following steps to install Cydia is done using Terminal on Mac. You can use the same commands on Windows using a SSH program like WinSCP.

- Note down the IP address of your device.
- Make sure your device is connected to your PC or Mac. Start Terminal on Mac and type:

ssh root@

- It will now prompt you to enter the root password. Type: alpine
- Once done, type:

wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://downloads.kr1sis.net/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh

Once done, the device will reboot and the extremely familiar looking Cydia icon will be sitting on the home screen in all of its glory. Jailbreak complete!

Why doesn't it install Cydia by default?
That is the main point of jailbreaking your device.

It's a whole new iOS so they probably have reasons I hope an untether comes out soon

It will probably be a newer version of iOS 6 before we get untethered unless people make one ofr this

I don't doubt it.
Apple will be going through all the bugs to make sure their new prize ponies do well.

There's nothing really useful (I think) in IOS6 so I'll just stick with 5.1.1 until ther either add somthing more useful or when the untethered JB is released

I always wait until an untethered is released I got tethered once and it sucked a lot.
